World Vision ‘s 30 HOUR FAMINE:
Going Hungry So Others Don’t Have To
Easton Baptist Youth will participate
in the National 30 Hour Famine Weekend:
April 27-28, 2012
What is the 30 Hour Famine? It is students loving God and fighting hunger. Hunger related causes are one of the leading causes of death in children around the world. The 30 Hour Famine is a movement of students around the nation fasting for 30 Hours and raising funds through sponsorship to support World Vision as it seeks to address the needs of those across the globe dealing with hunger issues.
Who is World Vision? World vision is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with communities world-wide by tackling the issues of poverty and injustice.
Why go without food- isn’t that risky? Juice and water are provided throughout the 30 Hour Famine, and students in middle school or who have health concerns will have the ability to have light snacks over the span of the event. Fasting helps participants identify with those in need and draw closer to God by relying on spiritual food.
What will we be doing over the 30 Hours of Fasting? Fasting will begin at 12pm on Friday April 27, and end at 6pm on Saturday. Friday evening, and during the day Saturday, there will be a number of different activities ready for our participants.
* Friday Night Fun Night Scavenger Hunt* Guest speakers & devotional Leaders*
*Community Service Projects * Photo Booth * Encouraging Worship *
* Crazy Game Time * eye-opening video clips * High School Overnight *
* Break-Fast Feast for the whole EBC Community*
