Jumping into January- Welcome to 2012!

Happy New Year!  As this new year begins, no matter what resolutions we do or don’t make, let’s all seek that this year, as we all hope in any year, that this would be a year of great growth as individuals, and as a community!  We have plenty of opportunities for that to happen, including some great ones in the Month of January.

*Opportunities for PARENTS:  January Film & Discussion Night. 

We are looking forward to the year ahead, and pray that we may all keep our hearts and minds open to the surprises God has in store for us!

Greetings! Just to let everyone know, the Nov. 12 Boston Service Day for Breakaway has been moved to Dec. 3.

 

Nifty November!

Greetings friends!  While the late October snow is way too early, it’s a good reminder that it’s time to start thinking about things like Opperation Christmas Child and our Winter Retreats.  Check out the news and calendar pages for details about November activities- here’s a sneak peak:

Middle School Service, High School Late Nite/Lock-In event, Opperation Christmas Child Pack n Pray, SALT shoebox edlivery & Worship Gathering, Thanksgiving Eve Praies Gathering & Pie Buffet, and even our first round of Winter Retreat Deposits!   Wow! What a crazy month ahead!

May this month lead to sharing and celebration as we reach out to our neighbors and friends with God’s love, and celebrate the blessings God has given us as we look toward Thanksgiving day.

 

October Outings and More!

Greetings!  October is a month of special outings, for high school, middle school, SALTeens, and even PARENTS!!!   So don’t hesitate to check out the NEWS page on this website to get all the details on those outings. 

As October arrives, we also celebrate Easton Baptist Church’s 40th Anniversary!  It is amazing the reflect on how God has been faithful to this church family over these years.  It’s also great to see the examples of faithfulness through the church’s pastors, staff, leaders, and members over these years.  This season isn’t just one of looking back on the past, but also rejoicing in what God is doing today in the life of our church family.  We also look forward with hope and expectancy at how God will work in the lives of those in our church family, and impact our neighbors across the street and across the globe! 

As the youth director, I want to remind everyone reading this that our youth are NOT the church of tomorrow. They are the church of TODAY!  

We rejoice that we have all that we need in Jesus, our Savior who was, who IS, and is to come!

 

Starting Fresh in September!

Greetings!  Welcome to a new year for Easton Baptist Church’s Youth Ministries!   Check out all the pages on this blog to see what the year has in store for us!  Here’s a few important highlights for September:

1.  Kick Off Night for teens and PARENTS is Wednesday Sept. 7 6:30-8pm featuring ice cream sundaes, Parent/leader vs. teen game show, and special meet n greet times for middle school, high school and parents. 

2.  Informational Meeting for our summer mission trip Wed. Sept 7 at 8pm (after the kick-off) 

3.  Back to School Movie Night featuring TO SAVE A LIFE- invite all your friends to this amazing movie night!

4.  Family Bible School kick-off Sun. Sept 11, 9am.  There’s classes for infants through adults! 

Looking forward to a new year where our theme is *Shining Bright* Where the light of Christ’s love shines IN us and THROUGH us!

Irritating Irene- praying everyone stays safe!

I am writing this reluctantly, but based on the advice of others, we will postpone our movie night by 2 weeks. While the weather won’t be a huge issue until Sunday, we want to be sure families are able to do what they need to before the storm, and to keep the roads clear for those needing to get specific places (such as emergency management teams), per the request of the governor. We will have another try at this Saturday Sept 10, 7-10. Perhaps this will give students a chance to invite more friends!

The EBC picnic at Camp Yomechas has been canceled. We hope to be able to worship at our normal time of 10:30 Sunday. A decision will be made tomorrow evening about that!

Golf Country Postponed Until Thursday

As my wonderful husband put it- “it’s a gamble” and thursday looks much better, so we will postpone minigolf until thursday evening 6:30-8:30. 

 It seens that no radar, or weatherman/woman can get their stories straight, and there’s some smaller pockets of rain moving in ahead of the stormy weather expected to arrive sometime between now and the proposed end of mini golf.  I know now that we’ve called it, the weather will likely hold off- but I’d rather have a night we’ll enjoy rather than be constantly looking over our shoulders!

Awesome August!

Greetings friends! The August News and Calendar are updated!  As we get info about events for the upcoming school year- we will try to post them to the calendar page!  But in the mean time, here’s what we have to look forward to in the month ahead:

Bible Study Brunch, Canoe excursion, Golf Country, Pool Parties, Six Flags, and ”Back to school movie night”!  With all this excitement, remember that we won’t be having regular Wednesday meetings again until our Fall kick-off night for teens and parents on Sept 7!

Service trip to Boston- Friday July 8 noon to 7pm. 

Bible Study Brunch Mondays 10:30-11:30am July 11, 18, 25 at various cafes in the area.  (details on the news page) 

Service trip to Gloucester- Sunday July 24, noon to 9pm
